The National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (NAPH) is a leading membership organization with more than 27 years of protecting metropolitan safety net hospitals and health systems around the country that provide high-quality health services to patients, regardless of their ability to pay. NAPH member hospitals represent 2 percent of hospital beds in the nation but carry 20 percent of the uncompensated care burden. These hospitals provide a variety of essential services to their communities, including primary care, trauma and burn care, and other vital services.
