Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Fund

Kaiser Permanente’s Community Benefit Fund has been a major supporter of NAPH’s quality improvement agenda. Through a generous grant to the National Public Health and Hospital Institute (NPHHI), NAPH’s research affiliate, the Community Benefit Fund has supported NAPH’s leadership role around quality and performance improvement for safety net hospitals and health systems. The Community Benefit fund also provides a generous grant for NAPH members to attend quality and performance improvement courses offered by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Over the three years the program has been in existence, NPHHI has distributed 172 scholarships to IHI courses ranging from patient safety officer training to improving patient flow in the emergency department.
