Protect America's Safety Net.
NAPH is working to ensure that Congress hears the voice of safety net hospitals as lawmakers deal with the looming fiscal cliff. NAPH continues to stress how vital the Medicaid and Medicare programs are to the nation’s safety net for the most vulnerable populations. NAPH and its members call on Congress to reject cuts that would lower the Medicaid provider tax rate, reduce Medicaid DSH payments or decrease Medicare outpatient payment for evaluation and management services. Cuts to the Medicaid program and Medicare outpatient reimbursement would jeopardize safety net providers’ ability to care for the nation’s underserved population.
