Truman Medical Centers
Truman Medical Centers (TMC) is a two-hospital, not-for-profit health system, located in Kansas City, Missouri. It includes TMC Hospital Hill, TMC Lakewood, TMC Behavioral Health, the Jackson County Health Department and a number of primary care practices throughout Eastern Jackson County. In the 1970s, Truman Medical Center was established on Hospital Hill and joined with the county hospital at Lakewood. TMC Hospital Hill, one of the busiest adult Level 1 Trauma Centers in Kansas City, provides an array of acute care and outpatient services, including specialty care in Asthma, Cardiology and Diabetes, among others. TMC Lakewood—redesigned in 2003—offers long-term care, primary care and family medicine as its key services.
